A Whole Lot Of Nothin'

After watching a video (well, briefly watching it before I had to move on or throw up) of Siddhu and his “Soniaji da javab nahin”, I was wondering if there are any sane congress personnel in the party.   Let’s see, Scindia? Nope. Can’t get his head out of Rahul/Sonia’s behind.   Likewise with Diggy; likewise with Tharoor (although, I do giggle at his way of expressing his opinions; but more about Shashi some other time).   I don’t see anyone that is not ready to put his/her head up their butts. For a little while, I thought MMS just didn’t talk because he’d start cursing the bejeezus out of the duo; but, I was wrong.   It’s been 3 years since he last saw any power and yet, he still seems to have his head stuck there. With all these people fighting to get their heads up there, it’s a wonder the mother/son duo can actually walk!! Maybe it’s on the application form to join the party: 1.        Name 2.        Date of Birth 3.        Will you be able to kiss a lot of leadership h

Why Judge When We Can't Do His Job?

Imagine a 20-something colleague of ours slogging 16 hrs a day, 7 days a week, rarely taking a holiday, living out of a suitcase - across time-zones - at least 20 days a month, speaking on diverse subjects, handling difficult negotiations with vendors and clients, facing merciless 24x7 scrutiny of competitors, media and jealous colleagues waiting for him to make ONE tiny mistake; and yet, staying calm, composed and never asking for empathy, praise or pay-raise.  Such a colleague would be rated a top performer, a darling of the organisation, touted as a role model and put on a pedestal. This gentleman Modi is doing pretty much all of the above, for one of the most complex organisations in the world, called the Republic of India. He's doing it at 65 when most of his contemporaries are respected Dadajis, into the 5th year of a salubrious retired life, enjoying a leisurely morning walk, playing with grandkids, giving gyan to the neighbourhood maali, bemoaning what India has come to, b

The Country Comes First

In a democratic country with over a billion people, social, educational, economic and religious disparities are expected; in an ideal world, we would all be at the same level. Unfortunately we don’t live in an ideal world; far from it, we live in a world where, in the name of democracy, we have had the rewriting of an entire history. Where we once had harmony, disharmony prevailed; over the years, this became a part of our lives. The people accepted this discord and went on with their lives, as if nothing untoward had happened. When one broached this subject, one was termed a “trouble maker.”  History was rewritten to reflect the concocted fact that the discord was caused by greedy Brahmins. I will not sit here and tell you that there were no greedy Brahmins; greed doesn’t know any creed.  It affected Brahmins as much as it did the other sects of people. Some fell prey to this greed while others didn’t.  Over the years, with the history books reflecting this new “history”, Brahmins fel
